Cancer patients test shorter antibiotic treatment for blood infections

NCT ID NCT07372131

Summary

This study is testing whether a personalized, shorter course of antibiotics works as well as the standard 10-day treatment for blood infections in cancer patients with very low white blood cell counts. Researchers want to see if stopping antibiotics sooner when patients are stable can reduce antibiotic use while keeping patients safe. They'll also check how different treatment lengths affect gut bacteria and antibiotic resistance.
