Cancer patients test shorter antibiotic treatment for blood infections

NCT ID NCT07372131

Summary

This study is testing whether a personalized, shorter course of antibiotics works as well as the standard 10-day treatment for serious blood infections in cancer patients with very low white blood cell counts. Researchers want to see if stopping antibiotics sooner when a patient is stable is safe and helps prevent antibiotic resistance. They will compare two groups: one that stops antibiotics after 72 hours of stability and another that follows the standard longer treatment.
