Smartphone data tailors pain therapy in small trial

NCT ID NCT06179784

First seen Dec 26, 2025 · Last updated Jun 14, 2026 · Updated 32 times

Summary

This study tested whether using smartphone surveys to map each person's unique pain patterns could help therapists choose the best treatment focus. Twelve adults with long-term pain answered questions six times a day for three weeks to create a personal 'pain network.' Therapists then used this data to guide up to 10 therapy sessions. The goal was to see if this personalised approach is practical and leads to meaningful improvement.
