No treatment, just observation: new study tracks rare tumor growth
NCT ID NCT01801176
First seen Apr 11, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 4 times
Summary
This study followed 100 adults with a rare, non-cancerous tumor called peripheral primitive fibromatosis. Instead of treating everyone right away, doctors simply monitored the tumors to see how they changed over three years. The goal was to find clues that predict which tumors will grow, and to record what treatments were used if growth happened.
