First seen Feb 01, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 15 times

Summary

This study tests whether adding H. pylori bacteria treatment to standard chemotherapy before and after surgery can improve outcomes for people with stomach or gastroesophageal junction cancer. About 198 adults with H. pylori-positive, locally advanced cancer will be randomly assigned to receive either chemotherapy alone or chemotherapy plus H. pylori eradication. The main goal is to see if the combination leads to a better tumor response after surgery.
