First seen Feb 01, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 14 times
Summary
This study tests whether adding treatment for H. pylori infection to standard chemotherapy (oxaliplatin and S-1) before and after surgery can help shrink tumors more effectively in people with locally advanced stomach or gastroesophageal junction cancer. About 198 participants with H. pylori-positive, resectable cancer will be randomly assigned to receive either chemotherapy alone or chemotherapy plus H. pylori eradication. The main goal is to see if the combination leads to a major reduction in tumor size at the time of surgery.
