Grief support for parents after baby loss put to the test

NCT ID NCT07494760

First seen Apr 17, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study looks at whether it is possible to run a larger trial that offers bereavement counselling to parents who have lost a baby late in pregnancy or shortly after birth. About 26 parents will be randomly assigned to receive either usual hospital bereavement care or usual care plus counselling. The researchers will measure grief, distress, depression, and quality of life to see if counselling makes a difference.
