Laser or Air-Polishing: which works better for implant gum disease?
NCT ID NCT03451981
First seen Dec 29, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 20 times
Summary
This study tested whether adding a special laser or an air-polishing device to standard deep cleaning helps control gum infection around dental implants (peri-implantitis). 47 adults with infected implants received standard cleaning plus one of the two extra treatments. The goal was to see if these add-ons improve pocket depth and reduce bleeding, but the infection may still need ongoing care.
