NCT ID NCT07155304

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study tested a new, less invasive procedure to prevent recurrent sigmoid volvulus (a twisted bowel) in 66 high-risk surgical patients aged 16-80. The procedure, called percutaneous sigmoid fixation, aims to fix the sigmoid colon in place to stop it from twisting again. The main goal was to see if the procedure reduces how often the volvulus comes back.
