New needle therapy may ease stubborn heel pain
NCT ID NCT07294196
First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This study tests whether adding a needle-based treatment (percutaneous electrolysis) to calf muscle trigger points, along with standard treatment on the heel, reduces pain more than standard treatment alone. About 50 adults with chronic plantar fasciitis (heel pain lasting at least 6 weeks) will receive three sessions of the needle treatment plus home exercises. Pain, function, and walking time will be measured before, after, and three months later.
