First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 21 times
Summary
This study tests whether adding a needle treatment to calf muscle trigger points, along with standard foot treatment, reduces pain better than treating the foot alone in people with chronic plantar fasciitis. Fifty adults with heel pain for at least 6 weeks will be randomly assigned to one of two groups. Both groups will do home exercises and get a needle treatment on the foot; one group will also get the needle treatment on the calf. Pain, function, and walking time will be measured before, after, and 3 months later.
