New needle therapy may ease stubborn heel pain without surgery
NCT ID NCT07294196
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests if a needle-based treatment called percutaneous electrolysis can reduce pain and improve function in people with chronic plantar fasciitis (long-term heel pain). Half of the 50 participants will get the treatment on the heel only, while the other half will get it on both the heel and the calf muscles. Everyone will also do simple foot exercises at home. The goal is to see if treating the calf muscles along with the heel provides better pain relief.
