Gum fluid test could spot hidden inflammation in denture patients

NCT ID NCT07271563

First seen Jan 06, 2026 · Last updated Jun 23, 2026 · Updated 35 times

Summary

This study looked at whether measuring a substance called pentraxin in the fluid around teeth can help detect early gum disease in people who have fixed dentures. Researchers studied 90 patients to see if pentraxin levels could reveal inflammation that isn't visible during a regular dental exam. The goal is to improve planning for dental treatments and catch problems sooner.
