New needle therapy eases shoulder pain after surgery?

NCT ID NCT06331871

First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 29 times

Summary

This study tested whether adding a one-time ultrasound-guided nerve stimulation (PENS) to standard physiotherapy helps people with shoulder pain after surgery. 70 adults who had arthroscopic shoulder surgery (like rotator cuff repair) and still had pain 4-6 weeks later took part. Half got physiotherapy alone, and half got physiotherapy plus PENS. The goal was to see if the added treatment reduced pain and improved shoulder function over 12 weeks.
