NCT ID NCT07330999

First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 19 times

Summary

This study compares three types of a nerve block (PENG block) for pain after hip surgery in people aged 65 and older. All participants get the standard block, but some also receive either dexamethasone or dexmedetomidine near the nerves to see if these additives extend pain relief. The goal is to reduce pain, lower the need for opioids, and improve recovery. About 120 people will take part.
