What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

pulsed electromagnetic field therapy

What this could lead to

If it works, this could offer a non-drug way to reduce severe itching from burn scars and improve quality of life.

What could go wrong

This is a small, early-stage trial with only 40 people, so results may not apply to everyone. The treatment may not reduce itching more than standard care.
