Immune booster shows promise against head and neck cancer

NCT ID NCT02641093

First seen May 15, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests whether adding pembrolizumab, a drug that helps the immune system fight cancer, to standard treatment (surgery, radiation, and sometimes chemotherapy) can improve outcomes for people with head and neck cancer. About 96 participants who had surgery to remove their cancer will receive pembrolizumab along with radiation or chemoradiation. The goal is to see if this combination is safe and helps keep the cancer from coming back.
