Lung cancer brain metastasis study halted after just 3 patients

NCT ID NCT04964960

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study tested whether adding the drug pembrolizumab to chemotherapy could help people with non-small cell lung cancer that has spread to the brain but is not causing symptoms. The goal was to see if the combination could control the cancer in the brain and improve survival. However, the study was stopped early after only 3 people enrolled, so no clear conclusions can be drawn.
