First seen Nov 17, 2025 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This study tests two doses of peginterferon alfa-2b in 27 adults with essential thrombocythemia, a rare blood cancer causing too many platelets. Participants have not responded well to or cannot tolerate the standard drug hydroxyurea. The goal is to see which dose works better and is safer over 100 weeks, aiming to control the disease and prevent complications like blood clots.
