Summary

This study tested whether peer support could help people with opioid use disorder feel less depressed and anxious. Forty adults receiving medication for opioid use disorder took part in weekly problem-solving sessions with a certified peer specialist for up to 12 weeks. The goal was to connect them to lasting mental health resources and reduce symptoms that often get in the way of recovery.
