Heart patients get emotional support from fellow survivors in new trial

Summary
This study tests whether connecting vulnerable atrial fibrillation patients with trained peer mentors for 16 weeks can reduce their anxiety and improve mental well-being. Researchers will compare 290 patients who receive peer support plus usual care against those receiving usual care alone. The goal is to see if sharing lived experiences helps patients better manage their condition and emotional challenges.
