First seen Feb 25, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 10 times

Summary

This small pilot study tested a program where trained peer recovery specialists provide regular support to people receiving medication for opioid use disorder. Thirteen adults who recently started treatment took part, and the results will help design a larger study to measure whether this approach improves treatment retention.
