First seen Jan 29, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 13 times
Summary
This study looked at whether a small amount of breathing support (called PEEP) changes pressure inside the skull during brain surgery in children. Researchers measured the optic nerve sheath, a marker of brain pressure, in 30 children aged 6 months to 18 years. They found that using PEEP did not significantly increase brain pressure and was safe for children with certain brain masses.
