Doctors seek goldilocks dose: enough pain relief, fewer side effects for young spine patients
NCT ID NCT05552443
Summary
This study aimed to find the best dose of a strong pain medicine given directly into the spinal fluid for teenagers having major back surgery for scoliosis. Researchers tested different doses in a small group of patients to see which one provided the most pain relief while causing the fewest side effects like severe itching or nausea. The goal was to help young patients recover more comfortably after this complex surgery.
