Can a simple blood test predict sepsis outcomes in kids?

NCT ID NCT02055105

First seen Nov 12, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study looks at tiny molecules called microRNAs in the blood of children with sepsis. Researchers want to see if these molecules can help predict how sick a child is and how well they respond to treatment. About 50 children aged 1 to 18 in the intensive care unit will take part. The goal is to improve early detection and monitoring of sepsis, not to test a new treatment.
