First seen Feb 19, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 9 times
Summary
This study looked at whether pea protein or whey protein is better for building muscle and strength in healthy young adults who started a new weight-training program. Thirty-four participants took either pea or whey protein twice daily for 8 weeks while doing resistance training twice a week. Researchers measured changes in muscle mass, strength, and blood markers like amino acids and insulin to see if the two proteins had different effects.
