New study aims to predict dangerous drops in blood pressure during clot removal

NCT ID NCT07509541

First seen Apr 08, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 7 times

Summary

This study watches 100 adults with severe pulmonary embolism (blood clots in the lungs) who are getting a procedure to remove the clots. The goal is to learn when and why patients become unstable (like having very low blood pressure or needing a breathing tube) during the procedure. By understanding these risks, doctors hope to make the procedure safer in the future.
