New personalized therapy for anxiety put to the test
NCT ID NCT07352592
First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study is testing a new type of talk therapy called Process-Based Therapy (PBT) for people with anxiety. Unlike standard treatments, PBT adapts techniques from different therapies to target each person's specific struggles. Ten adults with moderate-to-severe anxiety will try the approach and report changes in anxiety, mood, and quality of life.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- Process-Based Approach (PBT) - a flexible behavioral therapy
- What this could lead to
- If it works, this could point toward a more personalized therapy for anxiety that adapts to each person's needs.
- What could go wrong
- This is a very small early study with only 10 people, no control group, and no phase. Results may not apply to everyone, and the therapy may not reduce anxiety more than existing treatments.
