Video calls vs. office visits: new study tests best way to deliver Life-Improving therapy for Parkinson's patients

NCT ID NCT05700825

Summary

This study is testing whether therapy for swallowing and coughing problems in Parkinson's disease works just as well when delivered through video calls compared to in-person office visits. Researchers will work with 120 Parkinson's patients to compare two methods of delivering Expiratory Muscle Strength Training and Cough Skill Training over four weeks of intensive treatment and one year of maintenance. The goal is to make this important therapy more accessible to people who have difficulty traveling to clinics.
