Brain scans probe hidden link between Parkinson's sleep disorder and impulse control

Summary
This study aims to understand why some people with Parkinson's disease who also have a specific sleep disorder (RBD) might be more at risk for developing impulse control problems. Researchers will use advanced brain scans (PET-MRI) to compare the brain's reward system in 44 Parkinson's patients, some with and some without the sleep disorder. The goal is to identify a potential brain-based risk marker, not to test a new treatment.
