Scientists map Brain's 'Movement Highway' in Parkinson's patients

Summary
This study aims to understand how Parkinson's disease affects communication between deep brain areas that control movement. Researchers will record brain activity from two locations in 25 participants already scheduled for Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) surgery. They will compare how different stimulation patterns affect brain signals and movement speed to learn which pathways are most important for Parkinson's symptoms.
