Brain scans reveal why Parkinson's patients move better with music and visual cues

NCT ID NCT05179187

Summary

This study aims to understand why certain cues like music, visual targets, or rewards help Parkinson's patients move more easily. Researchers will use brain scans (EEG and MRI) on 90 participants (60 with Parkinson's, 30 healthy) while they perform movement tasks with different cues. The goal is to identify brain patterns that could lead to future treatments for movement problems that don't respond well to current medications.
