Can video chats replace home visits for struggling families?

NCT ID NCT06109766

First seen Mar 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 11 times

Summary

This study looks at whether parenting support given over video calls works as well as in-home visits for families involved with child welfare. About 357 parents of babies 6-12 months old will be placed into one of three groups: in-home coaching, video coaching, or a control group that gets a resource packet. Researchers will measure changes in parent-child bonding, child behavior, and whether children need to be placed in foster care.
