Drug trial aims to make labor shorter and safer
NCT ID NCT07237880
Summary
This study is testing whether a medication called papaverine can safely shorten the time it takes to give birth after labor is induced. Pregnant women who have a balloon catheter placed to help start labor will receive either the drug or a placebo (saltwater) after the catheter is removed. Researchers will measure how long labor lasts and check for any effects on the mother or baby.
