Could a simple IV drug make labor shorter and easier?

NCT ID NCT07237880

Summary

This study is testing whether a muscle-relaxing medication called papaverine can safely shorten the time women spend in labor after a specific induction procedure. Researchers will give the drug or a placebo to about 184 pregnant women immediately after a balloon catheter is removed during labor induction. The main goal is to see if the medication reduces the time it takes to reach full dilation and complete the pushing stage of labor.
