New approach targets debilitating pancreatitis pain

NCT ID NCT04232670

Summary

This study tested whether two different endoscopic procedures could reduce pain in people with chronic pancreatitis who have blocked pancreatic ducts. Fourteen adults with significant daily pain participated in this pilot trial. Researchers compared pain relief between a diagnostic procedure alone versus the diagnostic procedure plus a therapeutic procedure to clear the blockage.
