New hope for tough pancreatic cancer: mixing drugs and supplements
NCT ID NCT02336087
Summary
This early-stage study is testing a combination of standard chemotherapy drugs, a diabetes medication (metformin), and a specific blend of dietary supplements in patients with advanced pancreatic cancer that cannot be removed by surgery. The main goal is to see if this four-part combination is safe, tolerable, and practical for patients to take. Researchers will also look at whether the treatment helps control the cancer and improves survival.
