New MRI scan could predict pancreatic cancer aggressiveness

NCT ID NCT06526442

First seen Mar 02, 2026 · Last updated Jun 18, 2026 · Updated 14 times

Summary

This study explores whether a special MRI technique called 3D magnetic resonance elastography (MRE) can accurately measure the stiffness of pancreatic tumors and surrounding scar tissue. Researchers will enroll 200 adults with pancreatic cancer to see if these stiffness measurements can help predict how the cancer will respond to chemotherapy. The goal is to find a non-invasive way to guide treatment decisions without needing a biopsy.
