Tiny radiation seeds target pancreatic tumors in new trial

Summary
This study is testing a new way to treat advanced pancreatic cancer by placing tiny radioactive seeds directly into the tumor. The seeds release a powerful form of radiation called alpha radiation, which is designed to destroy cancer cells from the inside. Researchers are checking if this procedure is safe and feasible, and will also look for early signs that it might help shrink tumors or improve survival. The study will follow 30 patients with inoperable pancreatic cancer for up to two years after the seeds are placed.
