Can a simple questionnaire spot nerve pain in aching muscles?
NCT ID NCT07356115
First seen Feb 02, 2026 · Last updated Jun 21, 2026 · Updated 15 times
Summary
This study looks at 150 adults with muscle or joint pain to see if a questionnaire called PainDETECT can help tell when nerve pain is involved. Researchers will compare the questionnaire results with where the pain is and the official diagnosis. No treatments are given—this is purely about better understanding pain patterns.

What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
What this could lead to
If successful, this study could help doctors better identify nerve-related pain in common muscle and joint conditions, leading to more tailored pain management.
What could go wrong
This is a small, observational study that does not test any treatment. It only looks at existing records, so results may not apply to all patients or change current care directly.
