First seen Jan 06, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 17 times
Summary
This study tests whether adding dexmedetomidine to a standard numbing medicine (bupivacaine) in a nerve block can reduce the amount of strong painkillers (opioids) needed after upper abdominal cancer surgery. About 54 adults aged 18-70 having surgery for stomach, liver, or pancreatic cancer will take part. The goal is to improve pain control and potentially lower opioid-related side effects.
