One shot or constant drip? study tests best way to ease pain after leg surgery

NCT ID NCT07221019

Summary

This study aims to find the better method for managing pain after surgery for a broken leg. It will compare a single injection of a long-acting numbing medicine (Exparel) to a thin tube (catheter) that continuously delivers a short-acting numbing medicine. Researchers will measure patients' pain levels and their need for opioid painkillers for 72 hours after surgery.
