New combo may ease shoulder surgery pain

Summary
This study compares adding either dexamethasone or dexmedetomidine to the standard painkiller bupivacaine for pain relief after shoulder arthroscopy. About 100 adults having elective shoulder surgery will receive one of these combinations. The goal is to see which mix provides better pain control and fewer side effects.
