New study tests better pain relief after breast cancer surgery

NCT ID NCT06533566

Summary

This study compared two methods for managing pain after breast cancer surgery (modified radical mastectomy). Researchers tested whether an ultrasound-guided nerve block (Erector Spinae Plane block) or a local anesthetic injected into the surgical wound provided better pain relief. The goal was to reduce patients' need for strong opioid painkillers and improve recovery after surgery.
