New study aims to cut opioid use after joint replacement

Summary
This study looks at whether giving a nerve block before hip or knee replacement surgery can better control pain, reduce the need for opioids, and help patients get moving sooner. About 400 adults with osteoarthritis are taking part. The goal is to find a safer and more effective way to manage pain after surgery.
