New drug combo tested to ease surgery pain, reduce nausea

NCT ID NCT07213687

Summary

This study tested whether a combination of low-dose ketamine and lidocaine works better than the standard drug fentanyl for controlling pain after gynecologic surgery. It involved 70 women having planned surgery under general anesthesia. Researchers measured pain levels and nausea for 24 hours after surgery to see which treatment provided more effective relief with fewer side effects.
