First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study tested whether injecting a numbing medicine (ropivacaine) into the belly and around certain nerves before fibroid removal surgery could lower pain after the operation. 207 women having laparoscopic myomectomy took part. The goal was to see if this approach reduces pain intensity and the need for strong painkillers after surgery.
