Spray could ease agony of chest surgery drainage tubes

NCT ID NCT07294755

Summary

This study is testing if a simple spray of numbing medicine into the chest cavity during surgery can reduce the sharp pain patients feel from their drainage tubes afterward. Researchers will compare two different numbing sprays against a placebo spray in 300 adults having lung surgery. The main goal is to see which option provides the best and longest-lasting pain relief in the first few days after the operation.
