New nerve block tested for better pain control after chest surgery
NCT ID NCT07391475
Summary
This study compared two ways to manage pain after a type of chest surgery called video-assisted thoracoscopy in obese patients. Researchers tested whether a targeted nerve block injection (Erector Spinae Plane Block) was safer and more effective than standard intravenous pain medication (nalbuphine). The goal was to see which method provided better pain relief with fewer side effects in the first 24 hours after surgery.
