New study aims to cut opioid use after major chest operations
NCT ID NCT07437027
Summary
This study aims to find the best way to manage pain after major chest surgery (thoracotomy) while reducing the need for strong opioid painkillers. Researchers will compare two different nerve-block injection techniques given during anesthesia. The goal is to see which method provides better pain relief and leads to lower total opioid use in the first 24 hours after surgery.
