New study aims to cut opioid use after chest surgery
NCT ID NCT07437027
Summary
This study aims to find the best way to manage pain after major chest surgery (thoracotomy) while reducing the need for strong opioid painkillers. It will compare two different nerve-blocking techniques performed during surgery. Researchers will measure which method provides better pain relief and leads to lower total opioid use in the first 24 hours after the operation.
